CITB SEATS Site Environmental Awareness Course

Overview

This 1 day CITB SEATS Site Environmental Awareness Course will provide candidates with an introduction to environmental issues on construction sites. It's designed to meet the basic environmental knowledge that the sub-contract chain are required to prove to major contractors, and covers the environmental aspects of the new touch screen Health, safety and environment test.

Delegates under the age of 18 must provide written consent from a parent or guardian to successfully attend.

*  PLEASE NOTE - It will take approximately 2-3 weeks for the CITB to issue an E-Cert  *

Objectives

Candidates who successfully complete this CITB course will be able to:-

  • Understand the Environmental impacts of construction processes
  • Understand the relevant legislation and how to regulate it
  • Understand How to achieve compliance
  • Understand best practice techniques to use on site

This CITB course will cover the following topics: -

  • Why is the environment important
  • Environmental Management Systems
  • Ecology
  • Contaminated land
  • Waste Management
  • Pollution and Water Management
  • Being a good neighbor
  • Energy and Resources
  • Being a responsible contractor

Assessment

At the conclusion of the course delegates are required to undertake an exam which consists of 25 questions. The examination pass mark is 80% (24 out of 30). The CITB SEATS exam paper consists of 22 multiple-choice questions and three short multiple-response questions.  Delegates who successfully pass the assessment are awarded the Construction Skills (CITB) SEATS - Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme certificate.

Who Should Attend?

This SEATS course is intended for those who have management responsibilities on a construction site and therefore targets site supervisors, site managers, assistant site managers, site agents and site foremen.

CITB - Construction Industry Training Board (Site Safety Plus)

Prerequisites

A good understanding of spoken and written English will be necessary in order to attend and complete the course successfully.
