Overview

The NEBOSH International Technical Certificate in Oil and Gas Operational Safety has been designed specifically for those with safety responsibilities in the oil, gas and petrochemicals industries.  This five day course is ideal for those who have the responsibility for ensuring safety as part of their day to day duties, including Managers, Supervisors and Employee representatives as well as newly appointed Health and Safety Advisors.

Objectives

Delegates who successfully complete this NEBOSH course will be able to effectively discharge workplace safety responsibilities both onshore and offshore. The Certificate also highlights the importance of process safety management in the oil and gas industry.

Agenda

The NEBOSH Oil & Gas Certificate will cover the following topics: -

Unit IOG1 - Management of international oil and gas operational safety

Element 1- Health, safety and environmental management in context
Element 2- Hydrocarbon process safety 1
Element 3- Hydrocarbon process safety 2
Element 4- Fire protection and emergency response
Element 5- Logistics and transport operations

Assessment

Candidates are assessed with a written examination for the IOG1 unit.  The exam consists of ten short-answer questions and one long answer question.  Delegates will be given 2 hours to complete the paper.
