NRSWA (New Roads & Street Works Act) Supervisor Re-Assessment Course

Overview

NRSWA Supervisor Re-Assessment Training (New Roads and Street Works) is a necessity for any employee who have previously completed the NRSWA Supervisor course

Delegates who wish to undertake this training MUST provide a scanned copy of their current Street Works card (Front and Back).  Students MUST complete their training within 5 years of the card expiry.  Failure to adhere to these guidelines will result in the delegate having to sit the full NRSWA Supervisor 5 day course again.

The Re-Assessment training will cover the standard units only (Unit LA and Units 10-14 & 16) as detailed below.  If your delegate holds additional units please call 08000 931189 to arrange for these to be included.

Objectives

At the end of the this supervisor re-assessment course delegates knowledge will be refreshed on: -

  • The current NRSW Act.
  • Selecting appropriate personal protective and safety equipment as required to carry out street works activities.
  • Monitoring duties performed by Operatives for each unit and/or qualification. Standards in-line with current legislation, and ACOP where applicable.
  • Providing a safe working environment for themselves and others

Agenda

The NRSWA Re-Assessment Course for Supervisors will cover theory and revision of the following units: -

   Unit LA - Location and Avoidance of Underground Apparatus
   Unit S1 - Monitoring Signing, Lighting and Guarding
   Unit S2 - Monitoring Excavation in the Highway
   Unit S3 - Monitoring Reinstatement and Compaction of Back Fill
   Unit S4 - Monitoring Reinstatement of Sub-base and Road Base in Non- Bituminous Materials
   Unit S5 - Monitoring Reinstatement in Bituminous Materials
   Unit S7 - Monitoring Reinstatement of Modular Surfaces and Concrete Footways

 

 

Assessment

For each unit requiring re-assessment delegates will need to complete the following: -

  • Multiple choice assessment paper
  • Time allocation of 30 Minutes
  • Pass mark of 80%

Delegates will be required to present their original Street Works Card to the trainer.  Photocopies will not be accepted.

 

Who Should Attend?

This NRSWA Supervisor Re-Assessment training course is designed for NRSWA supervisors who currently hold a valid Street Works card who supervise work on the roadways and highways.

Delegates will also be required to present their original Card to the trainer on the first day of the course.  Photocopies will not be accepted.

A basic comprehension of the English Language is essential.

  • Will lunch be Included?

    The joining instructions will indicate if lunch is provided for the duration of your course.  Should you need to know prior to booking please contact one of our team who will be happy to advise.

  • When will I receive my Course Joining Instructions?

    Course joining instructions are sent 7 to 10 days prior to course commencement.  If you book within this time frame they are emailed within 24 hours of the booking being placed.

  • What time does my course start?

    Start and finish times are confirmed on your joining instructions which are issued 7 to 10 days prior to course commencement.  Failure to arrive at the requested time may result in the delegate being turned away.

  • Can I complete a name change on my booking?

    Yes, a name change can be completed free of charge providing the delegate being substituted has the required pre-requisites. You can submit your request by emailing our customer service team at training@easybooktraining.co.uk or calling on 01892 543000.

  • Why do I need to provide a pre-requisite?

    Pre-requisites are requested when the awarding body requires proof of a previous in date qualification or experience, to ensure delegates are eligible to attend.
