World Day for Safety and Health at Work: Managing Stress in the Workplace

The annual World Day for Safety and Health at Work will be celebrated on April 28. This year, the theme is “Workplace Stress: A Collective Challenge”. This recognises the fact that stress is one of the signs of an abundance of health problems within the work environment. As a way of participating in this celebration of workplace health and safety, our services can prove to be beneficial for companies advocating a safer and healthier workplace.

What the Annual Celebration Promotes

Globally, more than 2 million employees lose their lives as a result of diseases and accidents related to their work. These fatalities and accidents can cause trillions of losses on a global scale. With this, the World Day for Safety and Health at Work is celebrated to promote a work environment wherein diseases and occupational accidents can be prevented. It seeks to raise awareness not only amongst the management of an organisation but also for the employees. It is an awareness-raising event with the intention of being able to bring up the most common work-related problems, especially those that can be occupational hazards.

The World Day for Safety and Health at Work is celebrated globally, with many companies preparing various events to show that they are one with the International Labour Organisation in its goal of promoting a safe and healthy workplace culture.

How You Can Participate

If your organisation wants to take part in the World Day of Safety and Health at Work, one of the best things that can be done is to provide a session on stress management. This will provide employees with the knowledge of how stress occurs, and more importantly, how it can be effectively managed. Through these discussions, they will learn how to have a stress-free environment, which will have a positive impact on their productivity. Hire experienced trainers who can educate employees about the dangers of stress, not only in their work but their personal life as well.
