Ladder Association - Ladder and Step Ladder for Users Course

Using a ladder safely takes more than common sense, and the Ladder Association Ladder and Step Ladder for Users Course builds the genuine knowledge, skill and confidence needed to get it right every time. Delivered in a half-day format, minimum four hours, it's aimed at both operatives and supervisors who use ladders and stepladders as part of their daily work. It's the essential first step before the Ladder Association Ladder and Step Ladder Inspection Course, since a current certificate and LadderCard from this course are required before anyone can move on to formal inspection training.

Delegates come away with a clear grasp of legislation and regulations relating to working at height, product standards and classifications, and how to carry out pre-use inspection before every job. Because ladder use so often sits alongside broader work equipment compliance, this course pairs well with the PUWER Online Course for organisations wanting a fuller picture of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998.

Anyone whose work also involves scaffolding or other access equipment should look at the CISRS Basic Scaffold Inspection Course (SITS) alongside this course, since the two commonly overlap for operatives working across different types of access equipment on the same site.
There are no formal prerequisites for this course, though all delegates must have a good understanding of the English language and be capable of lifting and carrying ladders and stepladders.
