There’s always potential for accidents when working at height which is why we offer PASMA mobile access towers health and safety courses through our training providers. PASMA, the Prefabricated Access Suppliers and Manufacturers’ Association, has been providing and overseeing the industry standard training scheme for mobile access towers since 1974.

The great news is that it looks like safety practices are on the up in the UK. The National Access & Scaffolding Confederation (NASC) reported a 25% reduction in accidents in 2022, down on the previous two years. The confederation believe their members are “proactive in their approach to improving health and safety for their employees”. So what can you do to keep accidents to a minimum?

Working Safely at Height

Any industry that involves working at height is aware of the need for through health and safety practices. That could be scaffolders, tree surgeons, lighting technicians, roofers – any profession that raises people off the ground.

There are various safety protocols that can be followed, such as using the right equipment every time (to prevent over-reaching, for example), using safe equipment such as sturdy, inspected scaffolds, platforms with guardrails, or mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) for reaching high areas, and implementing fall arrest harnesses and lifelines for situations where a fall might occur.

PASMA Training Courses

Mobile access towers require the same safety protocols as any other instance of working at height. Regular, up to date health and safety training should be part of every company’s procedures. Training employees on the proper use and inspection of equipment as well as working at height protocol is essential. Here are the PASMA training courses we offer through Easybook Training:
