Overview

The Ladder Association Ladder and Step Ladder Course for Users is half day in duration (minimum 4 hours) and is aimed at both Operatives and Supervisors who require the knowledge, skill and confidence to use ladders safely in the work place.   

There are no pre-requisites for this Ladder Association training course, however all delegates are required to have a good understanding of the English language and be capable of lifting and carrying ladders and step ladders. 

Objectives

At the end of this training course successful delegates will be able to: -

  • Understand Legislation and regulations relating to Working at Height
  • Assess when it is appropriate to use a Ladder or Step Ladder and the height at which to use it
  • How to store ladders and step ladders
  • Identify Hazards in the use of Ladders and Step Ladders

This Ladder Association Course will cover the following agenda: -

  • Legislation and Regulations relating to Working at Height
  • Requirements for the use of Ladders and Step Ladders
  • Product standards and classifications for Ladders and Step Ladders in the workplace
  • Hazard which affect the use of Ladders and Step Ladders
  • Pre-use Ladder and Step Ladder Inspection
  • Storage and Transportation of Ladders

Assessment

The Ladder and Step Ladder for Users course will require all students to complete a multiple choice test paper and practical assessment.  Successful delegates will be issued with a Certificate and LadderCard (Photo I.D. Card) from the Ladder Association which will be valid for 5 years.

Who Should Attend?

The Ladder Association Ladder and Step Ladder Course for Users is aimed at any person who may use ladders and step ladders as part of their job, and who are or will be responsible for use of the equipment in the work place.

Any delegates wishing to progress to the next level may wish to take the Ladder Association Ladder Inspection Course

  • Will lunch be Included?

    The joining instructions will indicate if lunch is provided for the duration of your course.  Should you need to know prior to booking please contact one of our team who will be happy to advise.

  • When will I receive my Course Joining Instructions?

    Course joining instructions are sent 7 to 10 days prior to course commencement.  If you book within this time frame they are emailed within 24 hours of the booking being placed.

  • What time does my course start?

    Start and finish times are confirmed on your joining instructions which are issued 7 to 10 days prior to course commencement.  Failure to arrive at the requested time may result in the delegate being turned away.

  • Can I complete a name change on my booking?
