During this 2-hour online fire extinguisher course, you’ll learn the difference between various types of fire extinguisher, as well as how and when to use them. You’ll develop skills in assessing situations where fire is present, including how to identify the class of fire, and deciding whether or not to tackle it.
Created by health and safety professionals using a combination of video, infographics and practical exercises, this online course will enable you to feel more confident in a fire emergency. You’ll have a working knowledge of fire extinguishers and blankets, understand which one to use and how to operate it safely and effectively.

At the end of this online Fire Extinguisher course, you will take an online exam containing 20 multiple-choice questions. The exam is marked automatically and you’ll find out your results straight away. A pass mark of 90% is required, however, if you are unsuccessful, you can re-take the exam as many times as you need to at no extra charge.
Fire wardens, fire marshals, or anyone responsible for fire safety in the workplace is welcome to take this course. It is intended as an introduction to fire safety, and should not replace practical training on how to use fire extinguishers and fire blankets (required for all fire wardens and marshals). However, it can be used as a refresher course after practical training, as well as an overview for newcomers.
If you've received practical training, this course will reinforce your knowledge and help build your confidence in how to tackle fire in the workplace (and beyond).
No. There is no time limit to complete the course and you're free to learn at your own pace. The training can be taken in as many sessions as you wish or completed in one go.
