Mental Health Awareness Online Course

Looking after mental health in the workplace is essential – for employers, managers and their team members. This informative online mental health awareness course offers a useful introduction to mental health to help raise awareness and understanding.

You’ll be able to recognise symptoms and make positive steps in supporting your colleagues, while encouraging a tolerant and compassionate working environment. The course will take 35-minutes to complete and is IOSH Approved.

By the end of this 30-minute eLearning course, you will:

• Understand the meaning of the term ‘mental health’
• Be able to identify the most common mental health issues
• Be aware of ways that people are managing personal mental health problems themselves
• Demonstrate how to support a friend or colleague compassionately in the workplace
• Be able to promote a healthy, non-discriminatory working environment
• Understand the various adjustments that can be made to accommodate someone with mental health issues at work

This online course covers the following subject areas:

• An introduction to mental health, statistics, causes and symptoms
• The law and mental health at work
• What can you do to help?
• Types of mental health issues
• Ways to improve mental wellbeing
• Talking about mental health in the workplace
• How to foster a healthy workplace environment
• Workplace adjustments – what they are, and how they can help

At the end of this course, you will take an online exam containing 20 multiple-choice questions. The exam is marked automatically and you’ll find out your results straight away. A pass mark of 80% is required, however, if you are unsuccessful, you can re-take the exam as many times as you need to at no extra charge.
