Overview

The Vehicle Banksman half day course is aimed at candidates who are currently working on a site as a traffic marshal directing traffic including plant equipment and lorries.

Those who complete this training course will gain a better understanding of their role and responsibility.

Objectives

On completion of the Vehicle Banksman course, candidates will know how to ensure site-based traffic management is delivered safely, and demonstrate to employers a level of understanding relating to the risks involved with vehicles on site, including vehicles reversing in confined spaces, and how to avoid these risks.

The Vehicle Banksman training course will cover the following topics:

  • Identify risks and hazards, and how to avoid them
  • Equipment
  • Signals and when to use them
  • Health and safety
  • Vehicle inspection
  • Terminology
  • Legislation

Assessment

This is a competence and skills-based construction training course.  Candidates will be assessed throughout the training.

Workers currently employed as a traffic marshal who want to gain a recognised qualification that demonstrates to employers a level of knowledge and skills relating to their role.
