This one day CITB Temporary Works Supervisor virtual course will be delivered remotely, using instructor-led online learning. The course content remains the same as classroom-based TWSTC course, however, you’ll attend a scheduled, interactive class via Zoom video conferencing. For this, you will need access to a laptop or desktop computer with a webcam, microphone and speaker (sorry, no tablets).
The course is designed to help those on site who have responsibility for supervising temporary works and is accredited by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB).
Temporary works need careful supervision and the TWSTC course will focus on the importance of good safety practices, legislation, and risk management for projects of all sizes. Candidates need to have experience of being responsible for managing all forms of temporary works, and have detailed knowledge and understanding of BS5975 in respect of this role.
This Temporary Works Supervisor Course will also emphasise the importance of the 4C’s - communication, co-ordination, co-operation and competency.
Please note, attendance does not confirm competency as a Temporary Works Supervisor; this comes from a mixture of education, training and experience. However, training is considered an essential element of TWS competence.
Site Safety Plus ask that delegates refer to the current British Standards BS5975 for Temporary Works (Code of Practice) prior to their training.
* PLEASE NOTE - It will take approximately 2-3 weeks for the CITB to issue an E-Cert *
At the end of the remote TWSTC course successful candidates will understand:
The CITB ONLINE Temporary Works Supervisor training course will cover the following topics:
Delegates are required to attend the full day’s training, during which time, they are assessed on the knowledge and understanding of each subject area and are required to sit a multiple-choice test paper consisting of 22 questions, 3 of which are free text questions. The exam pass mark is 78% (21 out of 27).
On successfully passing the end of course assessment, delegates will be awarded a CITB certification, which is valid for five years.
The exam will be scheduled at a convenient time and is conducted via a 1-2-1 Zoom video call with your tutor. No secondary devices (i.e. mobile phones) are allowed during the exam.
The TWSTC remote course is ideal for managers, supervisors and agents. and those who want to progress on from the role of a Temporary Works Co-ordinator.
Delegates may choose to progress and enrol onto the Temporary Works Co-ordinator course.
