CITB ONLINE SSSTS Course (Remote Learning)

This two day virtual course is delivered remotely using instructor-led online learning, and the online course content remains the same as classroom-based SSSTS training, though delegates attend a scheduled, interactive class via online video conferencing rather than in person.

Intended for those who have, or are about to acquire, supervisory responsibilities, the CITB Online SSSTS Course (Remote Learning) gives supervisors the ability to understand health, safety, welfare and environmental issues, along with their legal responsibilities relevant to their work activities, highlighting the need to promote health and safety in order to supervise effectively. The course is endorsed by the United Kingdom Contractors Group as the standard training for all supervisors working on UKCG sites. To take part, delegates need access to a laptop or desktop computer with a webcam, microphone and speaker; tablets aren't supported for this course. Delegates under the age of 18 must provide written consent from a parent or guardian to attend successfully, and it takes approximately two to three weeks for the CITB to issue an E-Cert following successful completion.

• The Role of the Supervisor
• Behavioural Safety in the Workplace
• PPE
• Site Inductions & Toolbox Talks
• Risk assessments and the need for method statements
• Monitor site activities effectively

At the end of the CITB Online SSSTS Course (Remote Learning), delegates are required to sit an exam paper consisting of 25 questions, of which four are safety critical and require a short written answer. Multiple choice questions are worth one point each and safety critical questions are worth one to three points each. All safety critical questions must be answered correctly to pass, and the overall pass rate is 80% (24 out of 30). The exam takes place at the end of the course via an online video call with your tutor, and no secondary devices, including mobile phones, are allowed during the exam. Delegates who successfully complete the projects and assessment are awarded the CITB SSSTS, Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme certificate, valid for five years.
