Temporary structures on a building site carry just as much risk as permanent ones, often more, which is why the CITB Temporary Works Co-ordinator Course exists to build proper competence around managing them. Delivered over two days, it gives delegates a solid grasp of BS5975 and the practical duties involved in co-ordinating temporary works safely, from initial risk assessment through to final removal. Because temporary works so often involve scaffolding, formwork and shoring, this course pairs naturally with the CISRS Basic Scaffold Inspection Course (SITS) for anyone whose role touches both areas.
It also complements the CITB SMSTS Course well, since site and project managers frequently hold both qualifications to cover the full scope of their site responsibilities. For delegates working on construction projects where duty holders carry specific legal obligations, the Online CDM Regulation Awareness Course (Remote Learning) rounds out the legislative picture alongside BS5975.
Supervisors stepping into a co-ordination role for the first time often build on the foundations laid by the CITB SSSTS Course before taking this course, while those wanting a deeper grounding in risk management specifically may find the Risk Assessment Online Course useful alongside it.
Delegates are required to have experience in being responsible for managing all forms of temporary works, along with a good understanding of spoken and written English, to attend and complete the course successfully.
