NRSWA (New Roads & Street Works Act) Supervisor Re-Assessment Course

NRSWA (New Roads & Street Works Act) Supervisor Re-Assessment Course

2 Days CourseClassroom

NRSWA Supervisor Re-Assessment Training (New Roads and Street Works) is a necessity for any employee who has previously completed the NRSWA Supervisor Course and now needs to renew their qualification within the required timeframe. Delegates who wish to undertake this training must provide a scanned copy of their current Street Works card, front and back, and must complete their training within five years of the card expiry.

The NRSWA Supervisor Re-Assessment Course covers the standard units only, Unit LA and Units 10-14 & 16, refreshing delegates' knowledge of the current NRSW Act, selecting appropriate personal protective and safety equipment, and monitoring the duties performed by operatives to standards in line with current legislation and ACOP where applicable. If your delegate holds additional units, please call 01892 543000 to arrange for these to be included, since this course doesn't cover them as standard.

Failure to complete the NRSWA Supervisor Re-Assessment Course within five years of card expiry will result in the delegate having to sit the full NRSWA Supervisor Course again. Delegates will be required to present their original Street Works Card to the trainer; photocopies will not be accepted.

At the end of the NRSWA Supervisor Re-Assessment Course, delegates' knowledge will be refreshed on:

  • The current NRSW Act
  • Selecting appropriate personal protective and safety equipment as required to carry out street works activities
  • Monitoring duties performed by Operatives for each unit and/or qualification, to standards in line with current legislation, and ACOP where applicable
  • Providing a safe working environment for themselves and others

The NRSWA Supervisor Re-Assessment Course will cover theory and revision of the following units:

  • Unit LA: Location and Avoidance of Underground Apparatus
  • Unit S1: Monitoring Signing, Lighting and Guarding
  • Unit S2: Monitoring Excavation in the Highway
  • Unit S3: Monitoring Reinstatement and Compaction of Back Fill
  • Unit S4: Monitoring Reinstatement of Sub-base and Road Base in Non-Bituminous Materials
  • Unit S5: Monitoring Reinstatement in Bituminous Materials
  • Unit S7: Monitoring Reinstatement of Modular Surfaces and Concrete Footways

For each unit requiring re-assessment on the NRSWA Supervisor Re-Assessment Course, delegates need to complete a multiple choice assessment paper, with a time allocation of 30 minutes and a pass mark of 80%. Delegates will be required to present their original Street Works Card to the trainer; photocopies will not be accepted.

The NRSWA Supervisor Re-Assessment Course is designed for NRSWA supervisors who currently hold a valid Street Works card and supervise work on the roadways and highways.

Delegates who wish to undertake the NRSWA Supervisor Re-Assessment Course must provide a scanned copy of their current Street Works card, front and back. Students must complete their training within five years of the card expiry; failure to adhere to these guidelines will result in the delegate having to sit the full NRSWA Supervisor Course again. Delegates will also be required to present their original card to the trainer on the first day of the course; photocopies will not be accepted. A basic comprehension of the English language is essential.
