Overview

The CPCS A09 Forward Tipping Dumper course uses simulated on-site conditions to provide candidates with the necessary skills, knowledge and accreditation to correctly operate an A09 Forward Tipping Dumper safely.

This CPCS course ensures that operatives are working in-line with the latest health and safety regulations and is accredited by the Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS).

Delegates are required to have a basic knowledge of current health & safety issues as well as a good understanding of written and spoken English. In order to successfully complete training, candidates MUST have a CITB Health, Safety & Environmental touch screen test which has been completed within 2 years of the course examination date.

The CPCS Red trained operator card confirms a level of core skills, knowledge and understanding that can be applied in the workplace.  PLEASE NOTE this card is non-renewable.

Objectives

This CPCS A09 Forward Tipping Dumper course aims to:

  • Teach candidates how to operate an A09 Forward Tipping Dumper for both productivity and safety, via a combination of practical exercises and classroom-based training.
  • Allow candidates to achieve a CPCS Red Operator Card, indicating core skills and understanding within the workplace.

Agenda

This CPCS course will cover:

  • Operating an A09 Forward Tipping Dumper.
  • Employee and Employer's legal responsibilities
  • Fitting and operating ancillary equipment.
  • Understanding and carrying out routine servicing procedures.
  • Preparing an A09 Forward Tipping Dumper for travel on a public highway.
  • Applying necessary safety precautions and procedures.
  • Understanding how different parts of the machine operate - including a diesel engine.
  • Completing equipment pre-start and running checks.
  • Operate an A09 Forward Tipping Dumper across rough ground or over a substantial incline (both loaded and unloaded).
  • Safely travel and carry within confined or limited spaces.
  • Move loads between locations.

Assessment

The CPCS A09 Forward Tipping Dumper training course involves both practical and theory tests for successful completion. This will enable candidates to attain a Red Trained Operators Card, which is valid for two years and available for upgrade to a Blue CPCS Competence Card on completion of a Level 2 NVQ qualification.

 Assessment will take place across the following:

  • 2 days of practical training
  • 1 day of CPCS testing

Who Should Attend?

This CPCS course is suitable for novice operators who have never used an A09 Forward Tipping Dumper before and are looking to obtain the CPCS Red Card.

Prerequisites

In order to confirm your registration, you are required to provide the following information:

  • Existing CSCS Card Number
  • NI Number
  • Date of Birth
  • Home Address

Candidates MUST have an in-date CITB Health, Safety and Environment Touch Screen Test which has been completed within 2 years of the course examination date. A good understanding of written and spoken English is essential.

  • Will lunch be Included?

    The joining instructions will indicate if lunch is provided for the duration of your course.  Should you need to know prior to booking please contact one of our team who will be happy to advise.

  • When will I receive my Course Joining Instructions?

    Course joining instructions are sent 7 to 10 days prior to course commencement.  If you book within this time frame they are emailed within 24 hours of the booking being placed.

  • Do I have to attend all days/sessions?

    Full attendance on all days, at the required times stated on your course joining instructions, is compulsory to successfully complete the course.

  • What time does my course start?

    Start and finish times are confirmed on your joining instructions which are issued 7 to 10 days prior to course commencement.  Failure to arrive at the requested time may result in the delegate being turned away.

  • Will I be required to wear PPE?

    If PPE is required for your training it will be listed on our website, within the course information section, and also confirmed on your joining instructions.  If you are missing an item or have any queries please contact our customer service team at your earliest convenience on 01892 543000.

  • What happens if I fail the course?

    If you should fail the course our customer service team will be in contact to discuss your options.  Our team will talk through the process to help you achieve the qualification required in the most effective way.
