Mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs) are used on a range of construction sites and warehouses, and one of the most common dangers with Working at Height Training is the risk of falling from the platform, so it's important to understand how to carry out your work safely. Whether you work on a MEWP or are responsible for inspecting safety equipment, you should be able to recognise the most suitable harness for the job, and make sure equipment is well-maintained, regularly inspected and stored correctly.
The IPAF Harness Awareness, User and Inspection Course (HA-HU-HI) takes you through everything you need to know about harnesses and lanyards, from a general awareness of different types, through to fitting, adjusting and inspecting them for safe use on site. As this course is split into three sections, you'll leave at the end of the day with three new IPAF qualifications in Harness Awareness (HA), Harness User (HU) and Harness Inspection (HI). Delegates who have already completed the IPAF Operator Training Course (3a and 3b) will have each Harness category added directly to their existing electronic PAL Card.
All IPAF certification is now issued electronically via ePAL, so students need to download the app onto their device to access any certification they hold with IPAF; it's recommended delegates do this before the course begins. Should a physical PAL card and/or certificate be required, this must be requested at the time of booking and will be charged at an extra cost.
Applicants should be at least 16 years old, physically fit and have a good understanding of the English language, and delegates need to bring their own harness and lanyard for demonstration purposes.
