Certificates lapse, but the responsibilities of a workplace First Aider don't, and the First Aid at Work Refresher Course is designed to update the skills of delegates wishing to renew their existing three-day First Aid at Work Course certificate. Run over two days with a minimum of 12 hours of training, it revisits the full syllabus to keep knowledge sharp and current.
Delegates must already hold a valid First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work Refresher Certificate to attend; anyone whose certificate has already expired should contact the training team directly for guidance on 01892 543000, since they're no longer considered a qualified First Aider and may need to complete the full First Aid at Work Course again instead. The First Aid at Work Refresher Course covers the same breadth as the original qualification, from basic life support, CPR and AED use through to managing fractures, burns, chest pains, strokes and diabetic emergencies, making sure delegates stay ready for the full range of incidents they might face.
On successful completion, delegates receive their First Aid at Work Certificate, valid for a further three years, matching the certification issued through the original course.
Please note that a medical declaration applies: anyone currently suffering or with a history of back, neck, arm or knee problems, rupture or hernia, heart disease, high blood pressure, bronchitis, asthma or chest problems, blackouts, seizures or epilepsy, or anyone currently or recently pregnant, is advised to check with their GP before attending, and the training provider reserves the right to prevent a delegate from completing the course where safety could be put at risk.
