ONLINE EUSR SHEA Water Course (Remote Learning)

If you need access to operational water sites as part of your work, the Online EUSR SHEA Water Course (Remote Learning) provides a wealth of environmental guidance to help you carry out your duties safely and efficiently. Developed in collaboration with water industry experts, you'll explore environmental legislation, workplace responsibilities and practical management skills over the course of one day, leaving with the ability to manage risks effectively, improve safety in your workplace and minimise losses caused by injury and illness.

A fully remote, instructor-led course that you can access anywhere, this interactive training is recognised under the CSCS Alliance scheme. Please note that if you enter a clean water site or work on the clean water network (Restricted Operations) you must hold a National Water Hygiene EUSR registration (Blue Card). Anyone working across both water and gas or power utility sectors may also want to look at the Online EUSR SHEA Gas Course (Remote Learning), which follows the same SHEA framework applied specifically to gas industry work.

The one-day course covers 8 SHEA modules, made up of core modules and specific Water modules:

• Module 1: Understanding our workplace responsibilities
• Module 2: Understanding the effects of our work on the environment
• Module 3: Identifying and controlling risks
• Module 4: Common hazards and controls in the workplace
• Module 5: Occupational health hazards
• Module 6: Responding to emergencies
• Module 20: Clean and waste water operations
• Module 21: Highway working and excavations (Water)

At the end of each module, you'll take a multiple-choice test to check your knowledge and understanding.

Once you've completed all modules successfully, you'll be registered on the Energy & Utility Skills Register (EUSR) and issued your SHEA Water card, valid for three years, acting as your "passport" to access water industry sites in the UK.
