CPCS A62 Crane Supervisor Course

CPCS A62 Crane Supervisor Course

4 Days CourseClassroom

The CPCS A62 Crane Supervisor Course is designed to help those who need to carry out the duties of a crane supervisor. At the end of training, successful delegates will achieve a Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) Trained Operator Card (red card), which can be upgraded to a Blue CPCS Competence Card on completion of a Level 2 NVQ qualification.

Crane supervisors need to understand and follow safe systems for lifting, including risk assessments, method statements and lift plans, all of which are taught over the four days. The aim of the CPCS A62 Crane Supervisor Course is to provide candidates with underpinning knowledge and enable them to understand their roles and responsibilities when supervising lifting operations, as set out in current legislation. Anyone whose role also involves the planning and execution side of lifting operations should look at the CPCS A61 Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) Course, since supervisors and Appointed Persons work closely together on the same lifting operations.

Those wanting to attend should have some prior experience of cranes to meet the requirements specified in BS7121 Safe Use of Cranes. Delegates wishing to attend training must have an in-date CITB Health, Safety and Environment Supervisors touch screen test which has been completed within two years of the course examination date; delegates with an invalid test will be required to take this prior to attending. For experienced operators or those who require a re-test only, please contact one of the booking team on 01892 543000.
