City & Guilds Confined Space High Risk (6160-03) Course

Overview

The Working in High Risk Confined Spaces Course is accredited by City & Guilds and is essential for anyone working in environments such as sewers, vessels, tanks and chambers, who need to use full respiratory protection.

This is a 3-day competence-based course and will require delegates to show a good understanding of safe working practices and emergency arrangements including the use of entry and safety equipment, and respiratory protective equipment.

  • Minimum age to attend this course is 18.
  • Since entering and working in a confined space may be strenuous and demanding, delegates should be physically fit and in good health. Delegates should generally not have problems with eyesight, hearing, heart disease, high blood pressure, asthma, epilepsy, fear of heights/confined spaces, vertigo, difficultly with balance, impaired limb function, alcohol or drug dependence or psychiatric illness.

Objectives

Students will be trained on how to enter, work safely and exit high risk confined spaces, use full breathing apparatus and equipment, follow procedures, deal with emergencies, and use appropriate behaviour, industry knowledge and standards for safe working in high risk confined spaces.

Assessment

Delegates will complete practical assessments throughout this City & Guilds course plus a final written test paper.  Successful students will be awarded with a City & Guilds certificate which is valid for 3 years.

Who Should Attend?

Anyone who works in a high risk confined space, and potentially hazardous environment, where self-contained breathing apparatus needs to be used, and work involves non-standard entry involving complex operations.

  • Will lunch be Included?

    The joining instructions will indicate if lunch is provided for the duration of your course.  Should you need to know prior to booking please contact one of our team who will be happy to advise.

  • When will I receive my Course Joining Instructions?

    Course joining instructions are sent 7 to 10 days prior to course commencement.  If you book within this time frame they are emailed within 24 hours of the booking being placed.

  • What time does my course start?

    Start and finish times are confirmed on your joining instructions which are issued 7 to 10 days prior to course commencement.  Failure to arrive at the requested time may result in the delegate being turned away.

  • Will I be required to wear PPE?
