Fire Marshal Course

Fire Marshal Course

1 Day CourseClassroom

Fire Marshall or Fire Warden Training is essential to ensure that employees designated to undertake the role of fire prevention and evacuation understand their duties within The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, making the workplace a genuinely safer environment. The Fire Marshal Course gives staff a greater understanding of fire risks in the workplace and the ability to evacuate the premises effectively, covering how fire spreads and the best way to tackle it.

Delegates gain an understanding of fire safety risks and how to prevent them, and where location and course permits, candidates learn how to use fire extinguishers correctly and safely. Anyone whose role also involves broader workplace mental health responsibilities may want to pair this course with the Adult Mental Health First Aid 2 Day Course, since fire wardens and mental health first aiders both take on additional workplace responsibility beyond their day-to-day role, and organisations often build out a similar network of trained personnel across both areas. It's also worth pairing with the First Aid at Work Course, since fire marshals and first aiders are frequently drawn from the same pool of designated staff on site.

The minimum age requirement for attendance on the Fire Marshal Course is 16.

On successful completion of the Fire Marshal Course, candidates should be able to:

  • Execute their duties as a fire marshal / warden
  • Understand the nature of the fire and how it spreads
  • Distinguish between different types of extinguishers and their correct applications
  • Tackle small fires with confidence

The Fire Marshal Course will include sessions on:

  • Fire Safety Legislation
  • The Nature of Fire & Combustion Principles
  • Fire Procedures
  • Duties of the Fire Warden / Marshall
