Designed for contractors, operatives and health and safety professionals, the SPA Core Safety Passport 1 Day Remote Learning course gives learners a clear grounding in everyday workplace risks, legal responsibilities and safe working practices, all without needing to travel to a training centre. It's also a key step in applying for or renewing an ECS Labourers Card, delivered virtually and covering the same core principles as the CITB Health and Safety Awareness Course, in a way that's practical, structured and easy to follow.
Delegates explore the responsibilities of employers and employees, the purpose of health and safety law, and the importance of safe systems of work, alongside how to use the Risk Assessment Online Course principles of hazard recognition to support better decision-making on site. The training also touches on working at height and confined spaces awareness, tools, plant and machinery risks, and manual handling and noise awareness, giving delegates a genuinely rounded foundation rather than a narrow checklist.
Successful completion leads to the issue of an SPA Safety Pass Alliance card, valid for three years, and the course is also widely recognised as supporting wider card and site access requirements, potentially relevant for learners progressing towards applications linked to ECS or CSCS routes where accepted. For employers, this means greater confidence that personnel arriving on site already understand the basics expected of them.
This class is delivered via remote learning, so delegates need a laptop or desktop computer with a webcam, microphone and speaker to take part; tablets aren't supported. To support assessment integrity during remote delivery, learners may be asked to keep their camera on and complete the assessment in a clear workspace.
