This hands-on 2 day Practical Project Management Course looks at a project’s life cycle, from start up and application, through monitoring and control, and finally to closing it. You’ll explore all aspects of project management, including how to get the best from your team. Apply our tools and procedures to your live projects over two days and walk away with a clear plan for your next steps.


By the end of this practical two-day project management course, you’ll have learnt:

Training for this 2 day course will consist of the following:

Day 1

On the first day, training will cover the basic concept of what a project is and what issues to watch out for. This will be followed by:

  • Various project roles – who is responsible for what
  • What makes a good project manager, and how do you measure up?
  • Start strong – how to set up your project, step by step
  • Team activity looking at key areas of project management
  • Apply a prioritising tool to your current project
  • A look at project initiation document
  • Case study

Day 2:

Building on knowledge from day one, this session cover:

  • Check progress against objectives
  • Exploring planning tools
  • Applying Critical Path Analysis to your projects
  • Accurate time and cost estimates
  • Risk analysis – manage the risks in your existing project
  • Activity: Exploring the dynamics of a project team
  • How to keep a project on track and control changes
  • The end of a project – actions to take
  • Discuss issues on your own project
  • Create an action plan to take away


There’s no formal assessment for this course. However, you’ll receive a Certificate of Attendance for your records.

  • When will I receive my Course Joining Instructions?

    Course joining instructions are sent 7 to 10 days prior to course commencement.  If you book within this time frame they are emailed within 24 hours of the booking being placed.

  • What time does my course start?

    Start and finish times are confirmed on your joining instructions which are issued 7 to 10 days prior to course commencement.  Failure to arrive at the requested time may result in the delegate being turned away.

  • Can I complete a name change on my booking?
