11 Things You Should Have In The Car This Winter

1. Tow Strap with Hook – This is an essential “what I need to buy” item. Make sure that you have a strong and dependable one with you.

2. A Shovel – This is as important in your vehicle as it is in your garden during the winter. It will definitely come in handy.

3. Boots – Any winter boots will be better than an unsuitable shoe or trainer, whether that's a welly boot or a walking boot. Golf shoes are great if you have them, they, of course, offer fantastic grip. A thick sock is also a no-brainer!

4. Hazard Warning Triangle – every new vehicle comes with one of these, generally stored within the boot.  It is essential that you are conscious of its where-about and can quickly pick it up.

5. De-icing Equipment – This is perhaps one item that you have stored permanently in your vehicle. Always be sure that its full! It's always useful to have a window scraper ready as a backup.

6. First aid kit – You can never get it wrong with having a First Aid Kit that is fully stocked. And if you take any regular medication, make sure that you have the medications in full supply.

7. A Working Torch – Just as it is emphasised, the torch must be in good condition. Check the batteries and have some spare.

8. A Car Blanket – When your car gives up, the heater stops functioning, this is the moment when you would love a thick, warm car blanket. Either that or you may just find yourself teeth chattering by the roadside.

9. Warm Clothes – Always have a second set of winter clothes stored in your car. You never know,  when you will need to change out of wet clothes.

10. Emergency Rations – have foods that lifts the spirit with hot tea in your flask. 

11. Mobile Phone – Have your mobile phone along with a car charger with you at all times. And of course, ensure that it is fully charged.
