Which NEBOSH Certificate shall I take?

There are a number of NEBOSH certificates which can be undertaken so delegates often struggle deciding which course to take.  Over 35,000 people take a NEBOSH course every year.  The NEBOSH qualification is internationally recognised and taken by people working in every industry as well as National and Government associations.

NEBOSH's Certificate qualifications give a good foundation in health and safety for manager, supervisors and staff whom are responsible for health and safety amongst their day to day responsibilities.  The certificates are widely accepted as a first step towards a career in health and safety and are accepted by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) in meeting academic requirements for membership of IOSH.

Perhaps the most common NEBOSH certificate is the NEBOSH General Certificate.  The NEBOSH General Certificate provides an introduction to the basics of occupational health and safety.  It looks at how health and safety is managed and a variety of workplace hazards.  The certificate is taken by delegates from a wide range of backgrounds who are working within, or looking for a career in health and safety.

The NEBOSH Fire certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management is also a popular course.  It covers the management of health and safety with a particular focus on fire safety including legal requirements.  Key subjects include principles of fire, the causes and prevention of fires, fire protection in buildings and ensuring the safety of colleagues and the public in the event of a fire.  Again, this is suited to anyone working in health and safety, or working as a fire warden.  The qualification equips delegates to carry out fire risk assessments and identify fire prevention measures.

The NEBOSH Environmental Certificate is also designed for managers, supervisors and employees working in health and safety.  However, this course has a particular focus on environmental issues and those who work with environment issues as part of their day to day duties.  The course focuses on UK law and environmental management whilst also providing a sound basis for the NEBOSH National Diploma in Environmental Management.

Another NEBOSH qualification which delegates could undertake is the National Construction Certificate.  This is aimed at Site Supervisors, Managers and CDM co-ordinators working within the construction industry with the aim of ensuring activities are undertaken safely.  The course will be useful for anyone concerned with the management of buildings to ensure that contractors are working safely.

There are a number of NEBOSH certificates which can be undertaken by delegates, delegates simply need to choose the right course for them.
