NVQ Level 2 in Decorative Finishing and Painting (Painter)
The NVQ Level 2 in Decorative Finishing and Painting course is aimed at candidates who are already working as a painter and decorator and want to achieve a qualification that recognises their skills and expertise. On successful completion of the course, students will be able to apply for their CSCS Blue Skilled Workers Card.
Topics covered by the course include preparing surfaces prior to painting and how to correctly apply paint using a brush.
Applicants MUST be at least 16 years old and have a good understanding of the English language. This level 2 NVQ course is designed so the learner can gain the qualification while at work and enhance their career prospects.
Objectives
At the end of the NVQ Level 2 in Decorative Finishing and Painting course, candidates will be able to demonstrate knowledge, understanding and skills in a number of areas including preparation, applying paint with a brush and finishing.

Assessment
In order to successfully complete this Level 2 NVQ course, an NVQ assessor will observe the learner through a range of methods:

- professional discussions
- written questions
- a portfolio of evidence

CSCS card costs
The current cost of the CSCS card is £36. Students will be required to apply for their CSCS card directly on receipt of their certificate.
