NVQ Level 7 Diploma in Construction Senior Management
The NVQ Level 7 in Construction Senior Management course is aimed at providing delegates with a recognised qualification. It has been designed for senior site managers, project managers or company directors who are currently working in the construction industry and wish to achieve the highest vocational qualification available in the UK construction industry. Successful completion will allow candidates to apply for the CSCS Black Manager Card and become a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
The training will be a combination of assessments at the learner's workplace and practical workshops. The number of assessment visits will be dependent on the candidates experience and motivation.
Applicants should be at least 19 years old and have a good understanding of the English language. The learner must be in a site management job role to gain the qualification.
Objectives
This Level 7 NVQ course is designed to assess occupational competence in the workplace and delegates will be required to demonstrate their skills, knowledge and experience in construction senior management.
Agenda
The NVQ Level 7 in Construction Senior Management course will cover the following areas:
- Managing teams in construction
- Leading and participating in meetings in construction management
- Providing ethical advice, judgement and service in construction management
- Developing self and others in construction management
Candidates MUST select two optional units from the below list in order to gain maximum credits:
- B1: Project development
- B2: Procurement contracts and budgets
- B3: Project control
Assessment
In order to successfully complete the Level 7 NVQ course, an NVQ assessor will observe the learner through a range of methods:
- professional discussions
- witness testimonials
- observations to see senior management skills in practice
- written questions
- a portfolio of evidence generated on each session

CSCS card costs
The current cost of the CSCS card is £36. Students will be required to apply for their CSCS card directly on receipt of their certificate.
