PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) Online Course

To be able to carry out your job safely, you may need to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to shield your eyes, skin, head, ears or feet.

This IOSH Approved online PPE training course looks at the different types of PPE, how it protects you from harm, and the legal responsibilities of employers and employees. You'll understand when and how to use PPE properly, to make sure you comply with health and safety standards.

By the end of this 25-minute online PPE course, you will:

• Understand why PPE is important
• Be aware of when you need PPE, and when you don't
• Know how to choose the right PPE and use it effectively
• Explain the correct way to store and maintain equipment
• Recognise and be able to use different kinds of protective equipment for eyes and skin
• Be familiar with head, body, foot and ear protection

This online course covers the following topics:

• An introduction to personal protective equipment
• What does heath and safety law say about PPE?
• Why PPE is important
• Different types of PPE and how to use it
• When personal protective equipment is needed
• The dangers of fake or ill-fitting PPE

At the end of this course, you will take an online exam containing 20 multiple-choice questions. The exam is marked automatically and you’ll find out your results straight away. A pass mark of 80% is required, however, if you are unsuccessful, you can re-take the exam as many times as you need to at no extra charge.
