Falls from height remain one of the most common causes of workplace injury, and a large proportion trace back to equipment that was never properly checked before use. The Ladder Association Ladder and Step Ladder Inspection Course gives managers and supervisors the practical skills to spot faults before they become accidents, keeping ladders and stepladders safe, compliant and fit for purpose. It builds directly on the Ladder Association Ladder and Step Ladder for Users Course, since delegates must already hold a current certificate and LadderCard from that qualification before attending.
For organisations with a wider range of equipment to manage, this course pairs well with formal manager-level ladder training too, giving supervisors a fuller picture of both user-level and inspection-level responsibilities. Since ladder inspection often overlaps with wider equipment inspection duties, delegates whose role also covers scaffolding may want to add the CISRS Basic Scaffold Inspection Course (SITS).
Those responsible for broader work equipment compliance often pair this course with the PUWER Online Course to cover the full scope of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998. Because this course includes a practical session, delegates should bring the following PPE with them: a hi-vis vest or coat, work gloves, safety footwear and a safety helmet with chin strap.
