First Aid At Work – Are your employees at risk?

In every job that involves you leaving your home there is a level of health and safety and first aid that is expect to be there should someone need first aid at work.

Its hard to know if your employees are at risk, managers and superiors are charged with maintaining a healthy and happy environment for their employees to work in, this includes providing a level of safety that everyone is happy with. The inconvenient truth is that no place is accident free, while more active protocols for health and safety will be taken on places such as construction sites, office workers face a level of risk to accidents and injuries as well. This can range from slipping on a wet floor to scolding yourself with a cup of hot coffee, and when that incident happens and you find yourself injured seriously, you want to be in hands that know what they are doing until the emergency services get to you.

When working in an office, the last thing you would expect is for there to be any real risk to your health, some employers think this way and so do not bother with making sure that there are people under their roofs that know basic first aid training. In many different work places, there are all sorts of groups of people that are looking for better conditions both inside and outside office work, they are saying that the rate at which people are unprepared to handle accidents can in the long run to much more harm then good. This has caused employers to clamp down on these regulations and help to ensure that people are never put in a situation where they need help but there is no one able to give it to them.

First aid training courses are offered to all sorts of people, this training can start with people that are of a young age so that they feel ready to deal with an emergency situation should it arise, as people get older, refresher courses are offered to help them tune those skills so that they are aware in any first aid regulation changes. People that are in charge of children or other people in high risk situations are expected to know a certain level of first aid at work so that they can provide people with on the scene care attention should they need immediate medical attention.
