1st April Changes for CITB
At Easybook Training, we work tirelessly with our team to make sure we always provide you with the information you need, in a timeframe that you can quickly adjust too. We try to give express notice of significant changes in the industry, too, which is the purpose of this blog post. From the 1st April 2018, CITB is making substantial changes to the grant reclamation system. These changes are very important.
At present any company who is registered to claim their grant will submit their grant applications after the training course has finished. However, going forward all training providers have to decide whether they wish to opt-in or opt-out of the new grant reclaim program. When training is completed, the provider will be expected to upload all delegate details – Levy numbers included – to the portal, forcing registration of the employer’ grant.
To help make sure you never miss a beat, at Easybook Training we’ll be making some significant changes to keep up with this development. We will highlight which of the CITB training courses (Construction Industry Training Board) are opt-in on the scheme using a new website key. Using this, you should be able to decide if you want to use a Grant Applicable course, or if you wish to go down another route.
What Are Approved Training Organisations?
This will help you to decide based on cost, location and the general benefit that it will provide to your staff should you take part. At the same time, we have looked at the importance of showcasing the difference. As Approved Training Organisations (ATOs) become more prominent, it’s important to be ready to meet these new changes head-on.
An organisation which is delivering construction training courses and qualification programs to a specific standard follows certain protocols. To be considered an ATO, the company must be able to complete CITB approval programs. This could be anything from a commercial training provider to in-house training departments and educational groups.
At Easybook Training, we will actively be locating and identifying the ATOs which enable customers to make the most logical choice based on their own needs. All training courses will be provided to fit with CITB approved rulings, but please be aware that not all course will be grant-eligible.
Automated Grant Payments
Another key part of these changes from the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) is that an ATO will have to confirm the learner’ new achievements manually. This means uploading the details to the Construction Training Register, triggering an automated grant payment process that will take place at times initially agreed upon.
This will help to make sure that payments are faced and help to remove the need for extensive filing in of paperwork and other details. If you would like to reduce the time you need to spend on filling in grant payments and forms to do with this topic, you can find a much easier source of approval is set to come into action come April.
As ever, if you want to discuss any of these new changes with the Easybook Training team, we would be happy to do so. Contact us today for any more information you require.
