Via East Midlands

Via East Midlands Training Centre has been delivering highways and construction training for over 40 years, originally as Nottinghamshire County Council's Highways Training Centre before transitioning to Via East Midlands, the council's highways services partner. Based at Bilsthorpe Depot and Head Office in Nottinghamshire, the centre is conveniently located in the heart of the East Midlands with strong access links across Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Derbyshire, South Yorkshire, and Staffordshire.

The provider's specialist focus is highways, streetworks, and construction plant training, with a course portfolio covering the full NRSWA range for both operatives and supervisors, including refresher and reassessment courses for those renewing their Street Works Qualification Register card. Periodic Driver CPC training for HGV drivers, NPORS plant training across a wide range of categories including 180 and 360 excavators, forward and rear tipping dumpers, mobile cranes, loading shovels, MEWPs, and lorry loaders, alongside CPCS, HESA highways electrical courses, working at height, and winter service operations training complete a comprehensive highways-focused course catalogue.

Accreditation comes through SQA, City & Guilds, NOCN, HESA, and HCTA, with the centre also holding ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 certification through the British Standards Institution, and membership of the Highway Construction Training Association.

Facilities include four dedicated training rooms, a breakout room, a large purpose-built outdoor practical training ground, an on-site subsidised café, and ample free parking, with room hire also available for meetings and conferences.
